Boxing Ontario is pleased to announce the athlete and coach selection process for the 2023 Canada Winter Games (CWG) in Charlottetown, PEI from February 18-March 5, 2023.
The Canada Games is a multi-sport event held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, representing the highest level of national competition for Canadian athletes. Over 2,000 athletes and coaches will be competing in the largest amateur multi-sport event in Canada.
Boxing Ontario is committed to sending experienced athletes and coaches as part of a team to represent Ontario at the 2023 Canada Winter Games.
Boxing Ontario invites athletes interested in the opportunity to try out for the 2023 Team Ontario Boxing Canada Winter Games (CWG) through the Athlete Selection Process.
Boxers competing in the Canada Games will be between 16-18 years of age as of March 1, 2023. Those born between January 1, 2005 and March 1, 2007 will be eligible to compete as outlined in the 2023 Canada Winter Games Boxing Technical Package.
There are two coaching positions available for the 2023 Team Ontario Boxing Canada Winter Games: Head Coach and Assistant Coach. Boxing Ontario coaches are encouraged to apply through the Coach Selection Process.
The team objectives for Boxing Ontario’s entry in the 2023 Canada Games is to field a team to represent the province of Ontario with a goal to improve upon our previous CWG standings, as well as to select the best team possible team, meeting the development and competitive objectives.
