May 22, 2026 | The Canadian boxing team is ready to step into the ring at the Eindhoven Box Cup, taking place from May 21 to May 25 in the city of Eindhoven in the Netherlands. The international tournament will feature elite-level athletes from around the world and serves as an important competitive opportunity for Canada’s developing and established boxers alike. Athletes will get competition from many European nations, along with some other Asian countries participating in the tournament.
The Canadian delegation includes nine athletes representing clubs from across Canada:

W65 – Rachel Bourdon (Boxe Montreal, QC)

W70 – Tovah Clift Vom Hagen (Tribal Boxing Club, NS)
W75 – Viktoria Penney (Sully’s Boxing Gym, ON)
M60 – Logan Walsh (Albion Boxing Club, NS)
M65 – Owen Paquette (AFT Boxing Academy Brantford, ON)
M90+ – Yassine Belmekki (Phoenix MMA & Fitness, QC)
The team will be led by coaches Danielle Bouchard and Samir El Mais.
“This group has prepared well heading into Eindhoven,” said coach Samir El Mais. “We had a short refinement camp at the National Training Centre in Montreal before departing for the Netherlands, and the athletes are focused, motivated, and ready to perform.”
The tournament will also mark an important milestone for Owen Paquette, who returns to the national team program as an elite athlete. Paquette previously represented Canada at the youth level, notably competing at the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in 2022. The Eindhoven Box Cup will be his first international tour as a member of Canada’s elite team.
