Four athletes from Ontario will proudly represent Canada at the upcoming World Boxing Cup in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, taking place from April 20-26, 2026:

W 51 kg – McKenzie Wright (Fight Night Boxing Club)
W 54 kg – Scarlett Delgado (Destiny Boxing)
M 55 kg – Max Tomines (Tomines Boxing)
W 75 kg – Viktoria Penney (Sully’s Boxing Gym)

This prestigious event is hosted by the Confederação Brasileira de Boxe under the auspices of World Boxing,

Nearly 400 boxers from 50 national federations are registered to compete at The World Boxing Cup, the highest number of entries ever recorded in a World Boxing Cup competition.

The World Boxing Cup – Brazil 2026 offers a vital opportunity for Team Canada to challenge themselves against other world-class athletes, refine strategy for international the international season, and gain valuable World Boxing ranking points.

Boxing Canada has sent a dynamic team of ten athletes across various weight categories. After completing a multi-nation training camp in Brazil, the team is well-prepared to face international opponents and make their mark on the global stage.

Below are the first scheduled bouts for Ontario’s athletes:

April 20 at 10am ET – Scarlet Delgado vs NZL – Ring B
April 20 at 4pm ET – Viktoria Penney vs CHN – Ring B
April 21 at 10am ET – Max Tomines vs GER
April 23 at 10am ET – McKenzie Wright vs USA

The entire competition will be livestreamed on the Pan Am Sports Channel and the Confederação Brasileira de Boxe YouTube channel.
