The Raging Bull (1980)
Based on the life and career of boxer Jake LaMotta, the movie depicts the fury of Jake that makes him unstoppable in the ring. This inner anger spills over into his domestic life and sends Jake down a self-destructive spiral of paranoia and rage.
The Raging Bull was our top vote-getter for movies of the Post-Modern Era and the original “Rocky” was our top vote-getter for movies of the Pre-Modern Era. Though the votes remained close throughout, Raging Bull led the way the majority of the poll and was chosen as our Top Movie.
