Boxing Canada 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Set for Saturday November 23 in Sarnia
Sarnia, ON – Boxing Canada is proud to announce the induction of eight exceptional individuals into the Boxing Canada Hall of Fame as part of the 2024 Hennessey Holdings Elite and U23 National Championships. This landmark event will take place on Saturday, November 23rd, at 6:00 PM, at the Royal SCITS Academy, 260 Wellington Street, Sarnia ON.
The induction ceremony is a highlight of the national championships and celebrates the incredible achievements of these legendary figures. They are not only icons of the past but also inspirations to the current generation of athletes, many of whom have their sights set on the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
2024 Hall of Fame Inductees:
- Jennifer Ogg (Ontario) – Canada’s second female world champion
- Jamie Pagendam (Ontario) – 1988 Olympian
- Raymond Downey (Nova Scotia) – Two-time Olympian (1988, 1992)
- Howard Grant (Quebec) – 1988 Olympian
- Colin MacPhail (Ontario) – Coach of multiple Olympians and World Champions
- Domenic Figliomeni (Ontario) – Two-time Olympian (1992, 1996)
- Egerton Marcus (Ontario) – Two-time Olympian (1988, 1992), Olympic Silver Medalist (Seoul 1988)
- Troy Ross (Ontario) – Two-time Olympian (1996, 2000)
Event Details:
The Hall of Fame ceremony will be held between the Afternoon Show (1-4 PM) and the Evening Show (7-10 PM) of the Elite and U23 National Championships. Attendees will witness the induction of these esteemed figures and enjoy a day of elite Olympic-style boxing talent from across Canada.
Tickets for the event, including access to both championship shows and the Hall of Fame induction, are available at the door for $25 per person. Location is the Royal SCITS Academy, 260 Wellington Street, Sarnia ON.
