We hope everyone is staying healthy and active throughout this quarantine. We are looking forward to seeing you all at our Virtual AGM tomorrow (Saturday, May 16 at 1 pm). If you have not sent in your RSVP, please so do immediately via [email protected]

IMPORTANT UPDATE
With the implementation of Phase 1 of Ontario’s Re-Opening Plan, it is important that we reiterate that currently, Boxing is not included in this phase; however, Boxing Ontario is lobbying the Government to move our status forward.

NOTICE: CREATION OF THE COVID-19 TASK FORCE

With the plan to reopen, Boxing Ontario has now created the COVID-19 Task Force to support the membership and organization with the safe return of boxing in the province.

This task force is being overseen by Secretary Fred Ten Eyck and the members of it are; Matthew Standish, Amanda Cabral, Richard Souce, Gus Liapis, Carmine Paris and it is being informed by Dr. Adam Zoudis alongside our Finance Committee.

An email has been created for you or any concerned persons to ask questions, seek supports or provide information.  Please address all communications regarding the pandemic and reopening plan(s) or questions to: [email protected]

NEXT STEPS

At this time the group will be focussing on a number of priority items which are:

  1. Recommending best practice for club access.
    • Screening resources for staff, visitors and athletes.
  2. Recommending best practice for cleaning and disinfection.
    • Timelines for cleaning.
    • Recommended product types.
    • Recommendations on personal hygiene.
  3. Recommended signage for posting outside and inside clubs.
  4. Recommended training:
    • What can be done.
    • Adjusting training to meet athlete needs.
    • What cannot be done.
  5. Liaising with medical and health & safety specialists to determine other needs.
  6. Work with the Financial Committee to provide all economic supports available to members.

The overarching goal of this task force is to provide support and answers to clubs, athletes and members during the reopening period.
