October 17, 2024 | Toronto, ON – Boxing Ontario is thrilled to announce the appointment of its new Board of Directors.

Boxing Ontario’s elections took place virtually during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 9, 2024, where three individuals were elected by voting members to serve a two-year term on the Board: Shane Strickland, Rod Power, and Nick Chronopoulos. They join current Board Members, Jennifer Ogg and Matt Standish, who were elected at the 2023 AGM.

The Board is committed to upholding and promoting the values of inclusiveness, respect, integrity, high ethical standards, and community building, with a central focus on what is best for the athletes.

In September, Boxing Ontario began its call for nominations for the Board of Directors, receiving 11 applications from individuals eager to contribute their time and expertise to advance the sport of boxing in Ontario. We extend our gratitude to all the nominees for their applications.

Boxing Ontario would like to express its heartfelt appreciation for the tremendous contributions of all outgoing Board members. Their tireless efforts and commitment have played a crucial role in shaping our organization. Throughout their tenure, these individuals have worked diligently and devoted countless volunteer hours to advance Boxing Ontario.

With the newly established Board in place, Boxing Ontario welcomes applications to join its member-driven committees. Participation in these committees offers a direct opportunity to impact the sport of boxing in Ontario, promoting a stronger and more cohesive organization across various areas including High Performance, Female Development, Coaching, and Governance. Committee members play a vital role in enhancing the athlete and coach experience, producing dynamic initiatives, and creating an environment for boxing to thrive in Ontario. The application deadline is Tuesday, October 22.
