2012 Junior and Youth Canadian National Championships – February 28 – March 03, 2012

Eligible athletes in each weight category are:
1.One (1) Athlete per weight division per province / territories
ØThe remaining position will be allocated to Provinces/Territories who have requested sending extra boxers: A maximum of one (1) extra boxer per weight division per Provinces/Territories
Note:
- Maximum number of entries is 16 per weight category. Additional entries over sixteen (16) will be done by a draw at Boxing Canada (CABA) office in Ottawa by staff 10 days (working days) prior to the 2012 Junior and Youth Canadian National Championships.
Registration:
- Registration will be open from January 23, 2012 to February 13, 2012.
- Official Registration document must be completed and received in the Boxing Canada office by this time. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- No substitute changes among the athlete’s will be allowed after the registration deadline (February 13, 2012).
- No weight categories changes among the athlete’s will be allowed 10 days before the National Championships.
- Junior and Youth Athlete: $10
- Provincial Coach and Team Manager: $10
- Fee of $50 per athletes for no show after the registration deadline (February 13, 2012).
Note:
- Coaches will be able to purchase a $20 weekly pass to assist and coach at the 2012 Junior and Youth Canadian National Championships. Boxing Canada coaching card will be required.

Provincial teams:

- AIBA rules will be in effect
Competitor Eligibility:
- For Youth Athletes born in 1994 or 1995.
- For Junior Athletes born in 1996 or 1997.
- Athletes MUST be open class boxers.
- All participants must be a member of a Boxing Canada Member Association.
Documentation:
- To participate at this event as an athlete you MUST have a boxing passport with a photo and current registration year.
- To participate at this event as an athlete the Annual medical MUST be done in your boxing book.
- To participate at this event as a coach you MUST have your Boxing Coach coaching card.
These 3 rules will be enforced.
Competition Format:
- AIBA Swiss scoring system will be used for this tournament.
- Single elimination.
Weight Classes:
- Youth Men’s: 49kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 91kg and +91kg
- Youth Women’s: 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg
- Junior Men’s: 39kg, 41kg,43kg, 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg and 80kg
- Junior Women’s: 39kg, 41kg,43kg, 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg and 80kg
Weigh In:
- Test scale will be available everyday 1 hour prior to scheduled official weigh-in.
- Registered boxer’s weight should not exceed the maximum of the boxer’s weight class nor be below the minimum of the boxer’s weight class.
- The weight registered at the general weigh-in on the first day decides the boxer’s weight class for the entire competition, but this boxer will still be required to weigh-in each day in which this boxer is due to box to ensure that the actual weight on that day does not exceed the maximum of the boxer’s registered weight class.
- Any competitor who cannot make the weight at the general weigh-in can enter the higher or lower weight class if numbers permit.
Equipment:
- AIBA Swiss scoring system will be used for this tournament.
- Top Ten Competition gloves will be provided by Boxing Canada.
§Top Ten Competition head gear (red and blue) will be provided by Boxing Canada
- Handwraps will be provided to all boxers by Boxing Canada.
- All uniforms used by athletes MUST be a majority colour RED or BLUE for respective corners.
- The mouth guard is mandatory and No Red mouth guard or similar color will be permitted.
- Uniform that denote Canada are not allowed.
- Athletes with long hair MUST wear a bandana or a hair net under their headgear.
- Boxers will not enter with flags, t-shirt or robes in the ring.
NOTE:
§No personal boxing gloves, handwraps and head gear will be permitted in the ring.
- Headgear has to put in the ring.
Inspection:
- Athletes MUST pass bandage inspection before each match. Inspection will be done at the gloving table.
- Athletes will NOT be audibly called for inspection and gloved up.
- Coaches MUST have their boxers inspected and gloved up at least 15 minutes prior to bout time.
Protest:
- A complete protest MUST be prepared by the Provincial Coach or Team Manager and submitted to the Technical Delegate within 30 Minutes of the end of the match, with a protest fee of $100 in cash or money order.
Doping Control:
- Doping control testing may be conducted, in accordance with the Canadian Policy on Doping in Sport and Canadian Doping Control Regulations. Please see https://www.cces.ca.
