The Junior Olympics in Brownsville, Texas commenced yesterday with only two Canadian boxers on the card.  Jermain Badchkam of Ontario lost to Puerto Rico RSC2 when the doctor stopped the contest (due to use of Ventolin for asthma, which is allowed in Canada).  Cam O’Connell of Alberta lost 5-11 to Mexico in a very competitive contest.  The two will both box today for Bronze medals.  Here are the bouts for Team Canada at the Junior Olympics on July 7:

46kg – Kenny Lally CAN vs Robert Rodriguez USA
48kg – Jermaine Badchkam ONTARIO vs Geovani Vargas MEX
57kg – Cam O’Connell CAN vs Jose Pedraza PUR
60kg – Zishan Khan ONTARIO vs Jesus Mendez USA
60kg – Michael Garon CAN vs Ruben Guerrero MEX
