Congratulations to Team Canada and Team Ireland on two outstanding shows this past weekend.  At the Banger in the Hangar on Friday, the teams squared off in a 5-bout match in front of 800 boxing fans at the London Convention Centre.  Canada won the match 4-1, and all bouts were very close and several were split decisions.  The black-tie gala crowd was highly entertained throughout the night.

A big thanks and congratulations to the Community Spirit Foundation of Western Ontario, for hosting another successful event and raising over $100,000 for charities in London.  Also Boxing Ontario would like to thank the Irish Amateur Boxing Association, all boxers, coaches, and managers, for traveling to Ontario and participating in our shows.  The team was a great bunch and we hope to see you all again!  Thanks also go out to Boxing Canada, Boxe Quebec, the Delta London Armouries Hotel, and TOP TEN Canada.  And last but not least, our officials and volunteers who make our shows so outstanding.

World Cadet Championships

Ontario’s champs fell in the Quarter Finals on Saturday at the World Cadet Championships in Liverpool, UK.  Jerome Gabriel lost to I. Golub of Ukraine by RSCOS2 and Colin Fish lost to Y. Mishenkov of Ukraine by a 25:11 points score.

This was the first World Championships for both competitors and they should be congratulated on an excellent showing.  We have no doubts that both will be at the top of the world rankings in the years to come.
