Both the Male Senior 69kg and 75kg weight classes were so crowded that they had to be finished a week later in Mississauga.  Due to safety regulations a boxer can not box more than once within a time span of 24 hours.  Because these divisions boasted so many great boxers, only 3 rounds could be completed last weekend at the Provincial Championships in St. Catharines.  Two senior bouts remained undecided, with the winners gaining provincial glory and a shot at the Nationals:

69kg Senior Male
Andres Azcurra of Jamestown Boxing Club defeated Pedream Maleki of Centre Ring.

75kg Senior Male
Richard Reittie of Sully’s defeated Blain Buchner of The Boxing Factory.

* The 69kg Junior Male title box-off will take place at the Brampton Cup in February.

Congratulations to all participants and those who qualified for the Provincial Team.  Both the Seniors and Juniors have been invited to a training camp in Lindsay, Ontario in early January.  This camp will help prepare our teams for the National Championships in Quebec (Senior) and Brantford (Junior).  Training camp is open to invitees only.
