From January 7-9, 2005 the Senior and Junior Provincial Champions of Ontario participated in a Training Camp in Lindsay.  The training camp was hosted and organized by Boxing Ontario and The Boxing Factory.  Over 30 Provincial elite athletes took part in a grueling, but fun weekend.

Athletes were put through some effective training sessions by the Team Coaches and they got to spend time bonding as a team.  While athletes are by themselves when they step in the ring, the support of their teammates and coaches is extremely important.  Athletes gain new support systems, learn new techniques and tips, and most of all garner new friendships from the camp.

A special thanks to all coaches and families who helped get the athletes to the camp.  Also a special thanks to the Team Coaches and athletes for attending and making the camp spectacular.  Thank you to Kerry Hendren and all volunteers for their hard work!

The Senior Team goes into battle next week at the National Championships in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, January 20-23.  The Junior Team begins its quest for national glory on February 17 in Brantford.  For pictures from the Provincial Team Training Camp, visit our Image Gallery.  Or to see the teams, visit Athletes and Coaches in the main menu.
