Boxing Ontario’s U17, U19 & U23 Team is prepared to showcase their talent and tenacity at the 2025 Canadian Championships. Top youth boxing talents from across the nation will converge in Quebec City for four days of intense competition, vying for coveted spots on Boxing Canada’s National Team

Ontario’s U17, U19 & U23 team is a formidable squad of athletes featuring gold and silver medalists from the 2024 Golden Gloves Provincial Championships and wildcard athletes who demonstrated strong performances at Provincials and team training camps.

The following athletes will be representing Ontario at the U17, U19 & U23 Canadian Championships:

To ensure they are thoroughly prepared for Nationals, Team Ontario has diligently trained at their home gyms, sparring sessions, and participated in multiple provincial training camps led by Nationals Team Coaches Crista Aguinaldo (Oakville Boxing Academy), Virgil Barrow (Kingsway Boxing Club), and Julia DiMarcantonio (Napper’s Boxing Club), headed by Provincial Coach Ray Napper (Napper’s Boxing Club).

Six provincial team training camps leading up to Nationals took place at Boomerz Boxing, Oakville Boxing Academy (OBA), and Kingsway Boxing.

“I am extremely excited for the U17/U19/U23 Nationals this year in Quebec City,” says Coach Julia DiMarcantonio. This year Ontario is bringing a huge team of talented athletes who have worked very hard in preparation. I think this has been one of the most comprehensive selection and training camp processes that I have been involved with, and I think this investment will definitely pay dividends on the podium.”

Victory at Nationals not only means opportunities to compete on the world stage, but it also potentially launches athletes on the Olympic pathway and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

“Recent gold medals internationally by Ontario boxers really highlight the progress that is being made in the province.  I am looking forward to Team Ontario continuing these winning ways and rocking the PEPs Centre and the podium in Quebec!” stated Coach Julia.

Thank you to Ontario’s Nationals Team Coaches; training camp hosts Kingsway Boxing, OBA, and Boomerz; and the athletes’ personal coaches and families for all their support of the team’s preparations for this big step in the athletes’ journeys.

“Athletes and coaches from Team Ontario are locked in and ready for competition. Gold is the goal. National titles are the goal. Go, Team O!” says Coach Virgil Barrow.

Competition kicks off on Thursday, May 29 at 1pm.  For more information, schedules, and links to live-streaming, visit boxingontario.com.
