Join Boxing Ontario and Central Park Athletics in Windsor, ON as they host the 2024 Golden Gloves Provincial Championships: October 3-6, 2024. Don’t miss all the heart-pumping action as the top Olympic-style boxers in Ontario compete to be crowned Provincial Champions. The Golden Gloves is the next step for Ontario athletes to become a member of Team Ontario and advance to the 2024 Canadian National Championships.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Registration does not guarantee a bout in this tournament, however, early registration will improve your chances of a bout.
  • Reminder: Boxing Ontario membership provides insurance coverage and is required to participate fully in the 2024/2025 season, including participating in tournaments, club competitions, and sparring.
  • This tournament is for Open boxers (11+ bouts or upgraded) in the following categories: Male/Female: Junior, Youth, Elite:
    • Elite 19 to 40 years
    • Youth 17 years turning 18 y/o in 2025
    • Junior C 15 & 16 years
    • *Junior B 13 & 14 years (see note below)
    • *Junior A 11 & 12 years (see note below)
  • *Provincial Tournament categories are typically restricted to Junior C, Youth & Elite. Junior A & Junior B may register under the following conditions; If registrations exceeds a number that we cannot reasonably manage, we will first eliminate the Junior A category and secondly the Junior B category. Any bouts eliminated will receive a refund.

TOURNAMENT DATES: Thursday, October 3 – Sunday, October 6, 2024

TOURNAMENT VENUE: Central Park Athletics: 3400 Grand Marais Road East, Windsor, Ontario N8W 1W7

TOURNAMENT OVERVIEW: 4 Days, 6 Sessions, 1 Ring

Session 1: Thursday, October 3 @ 6pm – 9pm
Session 2: Friday, October 4 @ 1pm – 4pm
Session 3: Friday, October 4 @ 6pm – 10pm
Session 4: Saturday, October 5 @ 1pm – 4pm
Session 5: Saturday, October 5 @ 6pm – 10pm
Session 6: Sunday, October 6 @ 12pm


COACH REGISTRATION CHECKLIST & ACCREDITATION

Coach registration is MANDATORY in order to corner athletes and to receive a wristband at accreditation (which provides access to the field of play). If you do not register before the deadline (Thursday, September 19, 2024 by 5:00 pm), you will not be able to corner at this tournament. Registration will not be conducted on site. Please make sure you have completed the following:

  1. Ontario Coaches must be registered with Boxing Ontario for 2024. In order to process your coaching membership the following must be completed
    (a) Safe Sport (available in NCCP Coaches Locker)
    (b) Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
    (c) NCCP Making Head Way in Sport
    (d) ensure that your police check is up to date (within 3 years), or you must provide a new one
  2. Complete the registration for the Novice Tournament (link in the button below).
  3. A Coaching Card or a registration number with photo ID is required at all club competitions and tournaments. If you have not received your 2024 Boxing Ontario Coaching Card, please contact the office at [email protected] to receive your registration number.
  4. Coaches accreditation time and location: AT WEIGH-INS.

MEDICALS & WEIGH-INS

Boxers must weigh-in on the day(s) they are scheduled to compete.

Location: Central Park Athletics
Thursday: 2:00-3:00 pm ET
Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 8am – 9am ET

✅ Boxers must arrive to each weigh-in with completed book, including: name, photo, signature, and registration listed in the back.
✅ Boxers must also bring proof of citizenship or a PR card to weigh-ins. (Please note, any athletes who advance to and win Nationals with a PR card may not be eligible to be a member of the National Team. Please contact Boxing Canada for more information).
✅ Ensure you bring your pre-bout medical (download here) completed and signed by athlete and coach.

IMPORTANT:

‼️BOXERS SHOWING UP TO THE WEIGH-IN STATION WITHOUT BOOKS OR COMPLETED MEDICAL FORMS WILL NOT BE WEIGHED IN.
‼️Boxers who do not show up on time for weigh-ins (within the first hour) will not be weighed in.
