It’s time for Feature Friday, when we share the stories about the incredible people in the Boxing Ontario community. This week’s feature is Miguel “The Beast” Estrada, a boxer from London, ON who trains at Delgado Boxing.

How did you first get involved in boxing?

I first got involved when my dad brought me to a boxing gym.

Who first inspired you to become a boxer?

The first person that inspired me to become a boxer was again my dad.

Tell us about your progression in the sport.

My progress in the art of boxing has had its highs and lows. But overall, it’s been great because I’ve gotten stronger and I’ve learned more.

What motivates you as an athlete?

What motivates me as an athlete is the drive to become better than I was yesterday. That’s why I work hard every day to become stronger.

What has been your biggest challenge as a competitive boxer?

The biggest challenge I face as a competitive boxer is myself because the only person that can stop me from succeeding is me.

What is your biggest achievement in the sport?

My biggest achievement in the sport of boxing was when I got to train with the 4x world champion Román “Chocolatito” González.

What are your goals in the sport?

My goals in boxing are to become an Olympic gold medalist and the world champion.
