Boxing Ontario’s Female Development Committee (FDC) welcomed over 40 female athletes from across Ontario to Destiny Boxing in Kitchener on September 22 for their latest Performance & Development Camp.

The camp began with an informative nutrition seminar called “Keeping Your Weight Within Striking Distance” by Davor Cvijic. Davor has 20+ years of experience working with athletes and high performers to realize their potential and live their best lives through nutrition, training, and lifestyle modification. The seminar provided helpful guidance for the athletes to achieve their optimal performance through nutrition.

After the seminar, the group participated in a boxing warm-up followed by sparring which was supervised by the Female Development Committee coaches with the support of the athletes’ personal coaches.

FDC Performance & Development Camps provide valuable opportunities for female athletes of all ages, categories, and experience levels to receive quality sparring rounds with a variety of different opponents and styles. With Golden Gloves on the horizon, Camp provided a great opportunity to prepare and fine tune for the Provincial Championships.

These camps would not be possible without the dedication of the FDC members. Thank you to the Committee for organizing another successful camp and for their commitment to providing opportunities to further grow female boxing in Ontario. Thank you also to Destiny Boxing for hosting this month’s FDC Camp at their brand new location, to Davor for sharing his expertise, and to the athletes and their coaches for their devotion and support.
