End of the Year Report from the AIBA President

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

As we are facing the end of the 2008 year, I would like to define this year as “A Meaningful Year” since it revealed hidden assignments to solve and gave us the signs of potential significant leap in the future.

During the continuous boxing events which took place from the beginning to the end of the year, we have learned that AIBA technical and competition rules should be immensely improved. The heart and soul of the sport of boxing are the fair results in the boxing competition. Experiences gathered in competition made AIBA concentrate on rectifying some urgent problems with the scoring system and enhancing the referees & judges’ management system.
