The 2025 U17/U19/U23 National Championships will take place May 29 – June 1 in Quebec City. In advance of this highly-anticipated event, Boxing Ontario is inviting applications from athletes interested in being considered for “wildcard” spots to compete at Nationals.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: SUNDAY, APRIL 6 BY 12 PM
In order to be eligible athletes must:
- Be:
- Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident; or
- Meet World Boxing 2.4.5 criteria: “Refugee Boxers will be allowed to compete in the National Competitions in the country where they obtained the UN Refugee status.”
- Be a registered 2025 competitive member in good standing with Boxing Ontario and completed your yearly medical
- Not have any outstanding fees payable to Boxing Canada/Boxing Ontario
- Must have competed in Boxing Ontario’s 2024 Provincials.
- Be an U17, U19, or U23 athlete
- 11+ bouts on your record or previously approved for an upgrade
- Age and weight classifications are further outlined in World Boxing Rules
- The age of a boxer is determined using their calendar year of birth; ie. boxers between the ages of 17 to 18 are categorized as U19, and boxers between the ages of 15 to 16 are categorized as U17
- Be available to compete at Nationals from May 29 – June 1, 2025 in Quebec City.

Other factors taken into consideration for your application:
- Wildcards are encouraged to attend the upcoming training camps camps. Registration for camp is available here
- March 30, 2025 @ 12pm, hosted at Kingsway Boxing Club (265 Norseman St. Toronto, ON)
- April 13 (tentative date), location TBD
- The High Performance Committee will be taking the results of sparring at the training camps into consideration for team selection
- Other factors will include: boxer record, amount of bouts, and other experiences in boxing (ie: training camps, results in tournaments, etc.)
