FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | June 10, 2025 – USTI NAD LABEM, Czech Republic – Boxing Canada is proud to announce its national team roster set to compete at the World Boxing Challenge from June 10–15 in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic. This marks the first top-level competition of the season for Canadian athletes, who previously won medals at continental events.
The team was selected based on strong performances at the Independence Cup in February, as well as consistent progress shown in national training camps. Full details on the athlete selection process can be found in the 2025 National Team Program.
The World Boxing Challenge serves not only as a major international test but also as a vital tune-up for the World Cup in Kazakhstan, where athletes will join an international training camp before final preparations for the World Championships.
“We’re looking forward to seeing our boxers compete on the world stage,” said Head Coach Vincent Auclair. “Before this, all our events this season were at the continental level. This competition will be an important step as we prepare for the World Cup in Kazakhstan and ultimately the World Championships in September.”
Senior National Team Coach Samir El Mais added: “The athletes had a good camp at the National Training Centre before heading to the Czech Republic. They are well prepared and ready to box against the world.”
