Canadian boxing legend George Chuvalo to make annual visit

MISSISSAUGA, ON – Canada’s Largest Boxing Gym, HUF Executive Fitness, has kicked off the 9th Annual Summer Youth Camp at the 26,000 sq/ft Mississauga facility. The camp is FREE to youth between the ages of 7 – 17 where they can learn to box, play sports and have fun.

Operated by former professional boxer Olga Heron, and former bodybuilder Teresa Rego, the camp allows local youth to learn new skills, make friends and more importantly – receive a strong anti-drug message from former Canadian Heavyweight boxer George Chuvalo, who will make a personal visit to the camp on Friday, July 23 at 2 pm. George is best known for his legendary fights with Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and George Foreman, and today devotes his time to speaking out about the tragic events in which he lost his wife and three sons as a result of substance abuse.

“George has such a strong message to give and we are so thankful that he can visit us to speak to the kids at our camp”, says Olga. “Drug abuse is a serious issue in today’s society and speaking out against drugs and sharing his story will have such a positive effect on our youth.”

The camp is FREE and runs Monday – Thursday, 1pm – 4pm and continues until July 29th. To end the camp, there will be an exciting live boxing event sanctioned by Boxing Ontario. Also making an appearance is three time former Golden Glove Champion and Canadian Boxing Hall of famer Spider Jones.

Camp History:
Andrew Louis Heron, Chief Instructor, and his departed partner, Jeremy Rego, first initiated the camp when they noticed the amount of youth just hanging out on the street.  Many youth in the past have changed their lifestyles and ‘cleaned up’ as a result of the camp provided by HUF.
