Boxing in the Ballroom Media Launch

Thursday September 21, 2006

Commerce Court, 25 King St West

12-2pm

It will be upper cuts meet upper crust as the champions of Canadian amateur boxing go head-to-head with their American foes at the Canadian Liver Foundation’s Boxing in the Ballroom extravaganza. Join the Canadian Liver Foundation and Boxing Ontario at the Commerce Court right in the heart of downtown Toronto to promote this fabulous and worthwhile event! Former Olympian Egerton Marcus, 1988 Olympic Silver Medallist, Spider Jones, and other dignitaries will be on hand to aid the Canadian Liver Foundation its quest to fight the most often debilitating liver disease, known as Hepatitis.

There will be plenty of boxing action on hand with Kathy Ure, a repeating Ontario Champion and a 2-time National Champion, who will be on hand to lead the financial district executives through a gruelling lunch time BOX-ON! workout.

Festivities begin at 12pm and runs until 2pm.

Proceeds from the Boxing in the Ballroom eve will support the Liver Foundation’s efforts to defeat hepatitis – a liver disease that affects over half a million Canadians — by funding research and prevention programs.  Boxing Ontario is proud to be a part of this main event of the year.
