Congratulations to the Ontario boxers who travelled to Kansas City in late August to compete in the Ringside World Championships.  Just over 30 of our boxers travelled to the 4-day tournament and all competed very well, with over half winning at least one bout.

3 Ontario boxers returned home Ringside World Champions:

Ali Youssef – Border City
Boys Jr Novice 95lbs

Ali, in just his first year of boxing, has already won the Provincial Championships, Brampton Cup, and now Ringside Championships.  Be on the lookout for this rising star!

Buzz Grant – Bramalea
Men’s Sr Open – 132 lbs

Buzz has been knocking down opponents for some time.  This summer he made two shooting scenes in the upcoming NBC Boxing Reality Show “The Contender”.  He also defeated the #4 Ranked USA Lightweight.  Great work Buzz!

Glenn Hunter – St. Catharines
Men’s Sr Open – 178 lbs

After losing out in the 1st Round last year, Glenn returned to the Ringside Championships this year with a vengeance.  He won all 4 of his fights, including 2 by RSCH to claim the gold.  Glenn also knocked out the Northern Ireland Champ earlier this summer.

Neven Pajkic – Waterloo
Men’s Novice – 201+ lbs

Known as “King King”, Neven is a big punch boxer who left all opponents dumbfounded in the ring this summer.  Look for Neven at the Provincial Championships this fall.
