FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | September 26, 2025Winnipeg, MB – Boxing Canada is proud to announce that a strong Canadian delegation will step into the ring at the highly anticipated Melee Met Gala on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This exciting international showdown will see Canadian athletes face off against a talented team from the United States in a night of world-class amateur boxing.

Representing Canada are:

M55 – Karan Sembhi
M60 – Aayan Khokor
M65 – Gabriel Aly-Ndiaye
M80 – Umar Carcamo
W51 – Jade Delgado
W60 – Simran Takhar

The Canadian team will be guided by coaches Dylan Martin and Yulissa Agudelo.

Facing them will be the U.S. delegation, including:

W51 – Noelle Haro
W60 – Marie-Angelis Rosendo
M55 – Marcellus Smith
M60 – Salim Ellis-Bey
M65 – Marcus Luther
M80 – Joseph Awinongya

The Melee Met Gala is a charity quickly become one of the premier amateur boxing showcases, offering athletes a platform to demonstrate their skills, resilience, and competitive spirit while fostering international sporting ties between Canada and the USA.

Fans in Winnipeg can look forward to an electrifying evening of action as some of the brightest up-and-coming talents from both nations square off inside the ring. In addition to the international bouts, the Melee Gala continues its proud tradition of community impact through the United Boxing Club Corporate Challenge. Since 2014, this initiative has raised over $100,000 for local charities, offering thrilling white-collar boxing matches that captivate audiences while giving back to the community. This year’s edition marks an exciting new partnership with United Way Winnipeg, reflecting a shared commitment to improving lives and strengthening the community. For the first time, the Gala will be held at the Club Regent Events Centre, providing a state-of-the-art venue for both the charitable Corporate Challenge and the international competition.
