JANUARY 13, 2023 | TORONTO, ON. – Boxing Ontario is proud to announce the team who will represent Ontario at the 2023 Canadian Elite National Championships.
The team was selected based on their results at Boxing Ontario’s Provincial Championships (also known as the Golden Gloves Tournament) which occurred on November 3-6, 2022 at Red Owl Boxing in Brampton. Athletes who placed first and second qualify to compete at Elite National Championships on February 2-5 in Brampton, ON during the Brampton Cup hosted by Bramalea Boxing.
In December 2022, Boxing Ontario announced that the organization was seeking to fill a few available spots for the Elite Provincial Team. An open call to the Membership for some weight categories was conducted, and additional talented, competition-proven, prepared athletes were selected to join the team to represent Ontario at Nationals.
The Elite Provincial Team will participate in a training camp on January 21-22 at Red Owl led by Boxing Ontario’s Elite Nationals Team Coaches.
Through their hard work, dedication, passion, and skill, the athletes are one step closer to their dreams of representing Ontario and Canada on the world stage.
Boxing Ontario would like to congratulate the Ontario Elite Provincial Team and wishes them all the best at training camp and the National Championships.
