Three Ontario athletes will be representing Canada at the prestigious Futures Cup in Bangkok, Thailand from March 8-15, 2026.
W51 kg – Mehreen Khakh (Destiny Boxing)
M55 kg – Lisandro Garcia Rebelo (The Boxer’s Club)
M60 kg – Jayden Willis (Cardoso Boxing)
Hosted by the Thailand Boxing Association under the auspices of World Boxing, this event gathers the world’s best U19 boxers and serves as an entry event for the Youth Olympic Games, which will take place in Dakar, Senegal, from October 31 to November 13, 2026.
Mehreen, Lisandro, and Jayden were selected for the Canadian squad by Boxing Canada’s national coaching staff following their standout performances at the Youth Assessment Camp held in Montreal this past January.
For athletes representing Team Ontario and Team Canada, this tournament represents a valuable opportunity for high-level international competition experience and a milestone in their young Olympic-style boxing careers.
Boxing Ontario would like to wish Mehreen, Lisandro, Jayden, and Team Canada all the best at the Futures Cup!
