TOURNAMENT | 2026 Ontario Novice Tournament
Join us for the 3rd Annual Ontario Novice Tournament hosted by Boomerz Boxing and sanctioned by Boxing Ontario: August 21-23, 2026 in London, ON!
It’s going to be an epic event you won’t want to miss! Join us at the BMO Centre London for three electrifying days of Olympic-style boxing, featuring fierce Novice fighters across many categories. Prepare for non-stop action, incredible talent, and unforgettable moments — this is where champions begin!
This tournament is open to Novice boxers only (0–10 bouts) in the following categories:
Male & Female:
Initiation Funbox (Born in 2016, 2017, 2018,2019,2020) *Depending on the amount of entries, could be subject to change to SPARRING ONLY DAY ON SATURDAY
Junior A U13(Born in 2014 & 2015)
Junior B U15 (Born in 2012 & 2013)
Junior C U17 (Born in 2010 & 2011)
Youth U19 (Born in 2008 & 2009)
Elite (Born 1986-2007)

Note, categories will be split into sub categories 0-5 bouts and 6-10 bouts
ATHLETE & COACH REGISTRATION: OPENING MAY 15TH
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Active membership is required to engage in sparring activities and must be held for at least 90 days before engaging in competition or before engaging in a sanctioned event. If you are a new member and have been registered with Boxing Ontario for less than 90 days (after May 23, 2026), you will not be able to participate in this tournament and will be removed. If you are renewing your membership, please ensure you have registered with Boxing Ontario by June 1, 2026

PLEASE NOTE:
- Registering for this tournament does not guarantee a bout. However, early registration improves your chances of securing a bout.
- The maximum number of entries is 450 athletes. If that number is reached before the AUGUST 5, 2026 deadline, registration will CLOSE EARLY!
- Registrations will not be accepted once the maximum number of entries has been reached and/or after the registration deadline.
- Refunds will not be provided once the draw is complete. However, refunds will be provided to those who did not receive a bout. Participants are welcome to request a refund at any time before the draw
- Make-up bouts are currently TBD.

MEDICALS & WEIGH-INS:
YEARLY MEDICALS: If your medical has expired, you have until Tuesday, August 18th, 2026 to submit a new medical conducted by a licensed M.D. If your medical is not submitted to the Boxing Ontario office by this date, you will be removed from the tournament and refunded.
TOURNAMENT WEIGH-INS & MEDICALS: Boxers must weigh-in on the day(s) they are scheduled to compete.

Friday Weigh-In Time: 1pm – 2pm ET (TBC)
Saturday & Sunday Weigh-In Time: 8am – 9am ET
✅ Boxers must arrive to each weigh-in with completed book, including: name, photo, signature, and registration listed in the back.
✅ Ensure you bring your pre-bout medical (download here) completed and signed by athlete and coach.
✅ Please ensure your Boxing Ontario membership (or membership from your province/territory/country) is up-to-date (2025 membership), as well as your yearly medical, prior to registering for the tournament. Active membership with Boxing Ontario MUST be held for at least 90 days before engaging in competition/sanctioned event.
IMPORTANT:
‼️BOXERS SHOWING UP TO THE WEIGH-IN STATION WITHOUT BOOKS OR COMPLETED MEDICAL FORMS WILL NOT BE WEIGHED IN.
‼️Boxers who do not show up on time for weigh-ins (within the first hour) will not be weighed in.
COACH ACCREDITATION

Tournament Registration Deadline for Coaches: Wednesday, August 19, 2026 before 5:00 PM EST
Coaches Accreditation: AT WEIGH-INS (see above).
- Tournament Coach Registration is MANDATORY in order to corner athletes and to receive a wristband at accreditation (which provides access to the field of play).
- If you do not register before the deadline (Wednesday, August 19, 2026 by 5:00 PM EST), you will not be able to corner at this tournament. Registration will not be conducted on site.
- Please note, if you lose your wristband, you will have to pay an entry fee.
- Coaches must have valid membership from their respective province/territory/country
- Ontario Coaches, please make sure you have completed the following:
- Ontario Coaches must be registered with Boxing Ontario for 2026. Active membership MUST be held for at least 90 days before engaging in competition/sanctioned event. In order to process your coaching membership the following must be completed
(a) Safe Sport (available in NCCP Coaches Locker)
(b) Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
(c) NCCP Making Head Way in Sport
(d) ensure that your police check is up to date (within 3 years), or you must provide a new one - Complete the registration for the Novice Tournament by August 19, 2026
- A Coaching Card or a registration number with photo ID is required at all club competitions and tournaments. If you have not received your 2026 Boxing Ontario Coaching Card, please contact the office at [email protected] to receive your registration number.
