TOURNAMENT | 2024 Boxing Ontario x Boomerz Boxing Novice Tournament
August 23 - August 25
Boomerz Boxing Club in partnership with Boxing Ontario will be hosting a Novice-only tournament in London, Ontario on August 23rd to August 25th, 2024 at BMO Centre London. Please review ALL the information and action items below.
This tournament is open to Novice boxers (0-10 bouts) in the following categories:
Male/Female: Initiation Funbox, Juniors, Youth, Elite, Masters
Initiation Funbox (born in 2014,2015,2016)
Junior A (born in 2012-2013)
Junior B (born in 2010-2011)
Junior C (born in 2008-2009)
Youth (born in 2006-2007)
Elite (born in 2005 and earlier)
Masters (1983 and earlier)
ATHLETE & COACH REGISTRATION
Entry Fee: $30 early bird entry fee (ends June 30) – $50 regular entry fee
‼️ATHLETES: Please ensure your Boxing Ontario membership (or membership from your specific province/territory/country) is up-to-date (2024 membership), as well as your yearly medical, PRIOR to registering for the tournament. If you have not registered with your boxing association and submitted your medical by Monday, August 5, 2024, you will be removed from the tournament and given a full refund.
‼️ COACHES: Coach registration for the tournament is MANDATORY in order to corner your athletes and access the field of play. Scroll down for more info about coach accreditation.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Registration does not guarantee a bout in this tournament, however, early registration will improve your chances of a bout.
- The number of bouts will be limited by the number of rings and sessions. The maximum number of registrations is 260.
- If the maximum number of participants is reached prior to the registration deadline, registration will have to close. EARLY REGISTRATION IS ALWAYS RECOMMENDED TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.
- Reminder: Boxing Ontario membership provides insurance coverage and is required to participate fully in the 2024 season, including cornering at club competitions and tournaments, running sparring, and more.
- Registration for athletes in other provinces will open on Monday, July 8th, 2024

DEADLINE TO WITHDRAW FROM TOURNAMENT TO ENSURE FULL REFUND: Thursday, August 8th, 2024
DRAW: Friday, August 9th, 2024 @ 1:00pm (**SUBJECT TO CHANGE). All teams should have a coach present at the Draw on Zoom.
TECHNICAL MEETING FOR COACHES: TBD. All coaches should be present for the Technical Meeting.
COACH REGISTRATION CHECKLIST & ACCREDITATION
Coach registration is MANDATORY in order to corner athletes and to receive a wristband at accreditation (which provides access to the field of play). If you do not register before the deadline (Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 at 11:59 pm), you will not be able to corner at this tournament. Registration will not be conducted on site. Please make sure you have completed the following:
- Ontario Coaches must be registered with Boxing Ontario for 2024. In order to process your coaching membership: (a) both the Safe Sport and Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders modules must be completed. and (b) ensure that your police check is up to date (within 3 years), or you must provide a new one.
- Complete the registration for the Novice Tournament (link in the button below).
- A Coaching Card or a registration number with photo ID is required at all club competitions and tournaments. If you have not received your 2024 Boxing Ontario Coaching Card, please contact the office at [email protected] to receive your registration number.
- Coaches accreditation time and location: AT WEIGH-INS. Collect coach wristband: Friday, August 23rd, 2024 at 12:00 pm

MEDICALS & WEIGH-INS
Boxers must weigh-in on the day they are scheduled to compete. All weigh-ins will be conducted at the competition venue (BMO Centre).
Friday: 12pm
Saturday & Sunday: 8am – 9am
✅ Boxers must arrive to each weigh in with completed book (or temporary book), with completed name, photo, signature, and registration listed in the back.
✅ Ensure you bring your pre-bout medical (download here) completed and signed by athlete and coach.
IMPORTANT: BOXERS SHOWING UP TO THE WEIGH-IN STATION WITHOUT BOOKS/COMPLETE TEMPORARY BOOKS, OR COMPLETED MEDICAL FORMS WILL NOT BE WEIGHED IN.
