“After two years without a youth team, we are happy that a team could be selected this year,” stated Roy Halpin, Boxing Canada’s Executive Director. “These young boxers worked hard to overcome the challenges brought on by the pandemic, and we look forward to seeing them develop over the course of the next year.”
Opportunities have been identified for these athletes with the goals of developing their experience in international competitions and preparing them to make up the next generation of Elite boxers in Canada. The boxers will have their first chance to represent Canada in June at the Bornemissza Youth & Junior Memorial Tournament in Eger, Hungary.
