Boxing Ontario is pleased to announce that after two highly successful shows in September, the Scottish National Team has returned to Ontario.  Arriving yesterday, the team is in Ontario this week to participate in two shows and utilize our clubs as a training camp.  The team features top male senior competitors from “the island” , who are preparing for the Commonwealth Games this upcoming summer.  In attendance are: National Champions Jason Hastie – 57kg, Mitch Prince – 60kg, Kristofer Carslaw – 69kg, Craig McEwan – 75kg,  Kenneth Anderson – 81kg, and Stephen Simmons – 91kg, as well as their National Coach, Technical Director and 10 other boxers!

Boxing Ontario welcomes the team and thanks the Big Tyme Boxing Club and St. Catharines Amateur Boxing Club for their efforts.

Come out and watch Scotland take on our National and Provincial Champions!  The first show will take place this Friday, December 16, in St. Catharines.  The show will take place at the Optimist Club located at 8 Napier Street and will begin at 7:30pm.  This show will feature Adonis Stevenson, Canadian Middleweight Champion, versus Craig McEwan, Scottish National Champion.  McEwan defeated Jean Pascal two years ago and should provide a great test for Quebec’s champ.  La Belle Province is also sending 60kg Provincial Champion Pier Olivier Cote, who will do battle with Scottish Champ Mitch Prince.

The second show will take place on Sunday, December 18, in Orangeville.  Big Tyme Boxing Club (2 Faulkner St) will host the show, which commences at 2pm.  Come out and support Ontario’s best as they take on the best Scotland has to offer!

Tickets for each show are $10.  For more information contact Joe Corrigan, St. Catharines Amateur Boxing Club, or Bryon Mackie, Big Tyme Boxing Club.
