The path towards Olympic stardom is now clear for all Boxers around the world with the confirmation of the Olympic qualification process for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

A grand total of 286 vacancies are available of which a maximum of six are guaranteed for the host nation – China, while the guidelines confirm that a maximum of only one athlete per NOC is able to qualify in each weight division.

The qualification process includes 10 events – the 2007 Senior World Championships, the Oceania continental championships and two Olympic qualifying tournaments in Africa, America, Asia and Europe.

The first qualifying event will be the 2007 World Championships.
