The Women’s International Tournament, “Tourneo Italia”, is underway in Rome, with two Ontario natives boxing in Preliminary Round action. Jacqui Park of Cabbagetown lost a decision to Laura Tosti of Italy (48kg). Katie Dunn of Border City defeated her French opponent, Amelie Blary by RSCH in the 3rd Round (63kg).
The Junior Olympics in Brownsville, Texas have also begun and we hope to have results shortly. Ontario Champions participating on the National Team are 48kg Jermaine Badchkam (McGrory’s), 50kg Adrian Sinanan (Bramalea), 60kg Zishan Khan (Champion), 63kg Jerome Gabriel and 80kg Colin Fish (Motor City).
Thank you to all clubs and boxers who participated in the Motor City Boxing Card on July 1st at the CHIN Picnic. The event was featured on City TV and there was a huge crowd of spectators watching the bouts!
