Better late than never.  Boxing Canada has announced that Trevor Stewardson, formerly of Thunder Bay and now boxing out of western Canada, has been named to the Canadian Olympic Boxing Team.

Earier this month, Jean Pascal and Benoit Gaudet of Montreal were named to the team alongside Ontario’s Andrew Kooner and Adam Trupish after initially being denied by the C.O.C.  The boxers appealed the decision and won, seemingly leaving Stewardson as the “odd man out.”  However, thanks to Boxing Canada’s Athlete Representative and an arbitrator from ADR-sport-RED, Stewardson was named to the squad today.  He will box in the light heavyweight division in Athens.

Congratulations to Trevor and the rest of the Canadian National Team!
