Dear Boxing Ontario Family,
It has been an honour to serve on the Boxing Ontario Board of Directors throughout the past three years. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the membership for the confidence and trust put in myself and in our Board as we navigated our way through some of the most difficult years faced by the world, and our sport.
It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that I will not be running for re-election this coming term. At this time, I have decided to take a step back and focus on rebuilding my business as well as the Fight to End Cancer charity event. The pandemic, coupled with personal challenges, has also made me realize that I need to spend as much time as possible with my family.
I am grateful for the valuable experience and the opportunities I received with Boxing Ontario, especially serving as a Director in such a critical time through a global pandemic. I feel fortunate to have been able to contribute to an association in which I’ve been a member for nearly 20 years, working alongside many of the legends in our sport. During my time with Boxing Ontario, the immense support that I received from the organization and its members allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. It has been great to work with such talented and dedicated people.
I’m proud of the progress we collectively achieved operationally, and I look forward to seeing this growth continue and take flight as the world and sport normalizes. I am also inspired by the roster of nominees who have expressed their interest in stepping up to support the future challenges and opportunities of our sport and organization.
I look forward to continuing my contributions through the Officials Commission, and lending my support to the organization whenever it might be of value. I will also remain involved with the transition process as the new Board of Directors settles in. I wish the new Directors and the staff continued success, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the next competition!
