Whitehorse, Yukon – It was another great Winter Games for Canada’s finest athletes, more specifically Ontario’s Junior Male National team. Team Ontario brought home a total of 7 medals out of a possible 9. Our Ontario Amateur Boxer National Medalists are:

Gold

60kg Zishan Khan – Champion Boxing Club, Brampton
64kg Josh Cameron – Border City Boxing Club, Windsor
75kg Jerome Gabriel – Motor City Boxing Club, Oshawa

Silver

57kg Steve Wilcox – Steeltown Boxing Club, Hamilton

Bronze

51kg Jermaine Badchkam – McGrory’s Boxing Club, Hamilton
69kg Jordan Letestu – Big Tyme Boxing Club, Orangeville
91kg Kyle Matuk – Motor City Boxing Club, Oshawa

Honorable mention goes to Colin Fish-Motor City Boxing Club, Oshawa and Eyobe Amberber – Border City Boxing Club, Windsor

Team Coaches were: Josh Canty – Border City Boxing Club, Don Nelson – Motor City Boxing Club, and Robert Wilcox – Steeltown Boxing Club

Another huge accomplishment went to Oshawa’s Jerome Gabriel who was chosen from over 2000 Ontario athletes to carry the Canada Games Flag at the closing ceremonies. Ontario won the flag with 310 points. Points were accumulated over the 2 week Games period.
