SUMMARY:COACHING COURSE | Instruction Beginners – Thunder Bay
DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to become a boxing coach? The two-day Instruction Beginners (formerly Level 1) course is designed to provide an in-depth introduction into the fundamentals of coaching boxing. \nNCCP COURSE DESCRIPTION: Designed to help coaches assist boxers in the early stages of their competitive careers\, this workshop focuses on basic techniques and tactical principles that every beginner boxer should learn and master. This 12-hour workshop also covers key rules of amateur boxing\, fundamental ring craft principles\, guidelines for gym equipment usage\, as well as basic methods to improve motor abilities for athletes aged 6 to 12. \nPLEASE NOTE: This course will be capped at 15 participants. Early registration is recommended. \nDATE:\nSaturday\, April 4 AND Sunday\, April 5\, 2026 \nTIME:\n9am – 5pm ET both days \nLOCATION:\nUnderground Boxing\n414 Victoria Ave E\nThunder Bay\, ON \nBRING:\n• Come prepared to be active; wear some appropriate footwear and comfortable active-wear and bring a water bottle to the class.\n• If you own gloves and hand pads\, feel free to bring them\, but this is not a necessity.\n• Bring writing utensils such as pen/paper.\n• Time will be allotted for lunch. If unsure of the food options nearby\, bringing your own lunch is recommended. \nNCCP NUMBER:\nEvery coach attending the course MUST have an NCCP number prior to the start of the course. If you don’t have a number\, please create one HERE. You should know this number going forward as it will give you access to all the courses you take on the Coaching Association of Canada’s website called The Locker. \n*Have your NCCP number with you\, as you may need to present it to the instructor. \nRegister Here!\nRegistering as a coach under an affiliated club: \nTo process memberships\, all coaches must complete their Safe Sport Training and Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders. These modules can be completed before or after coaches have completed the Instruction Beginners course. \n1. Safe Sport can be found on your Locker under the E-Learning tab.
