The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport has issued the attached letter regarding Combative Sport Provincial Sport Organizations (“Combative Sport PSOs”) sanctioned events. The letter clarifies the roles and responsibilities of recognized amateur Combative Sport PSOs. The letter describes the current status of amateur Combative Sport PSOs, in Ontario, that are recognized by the Ministry and references a policy position of the Ontario Athletics Commissioner regarding participation of professionals in unsanctioned amateur events.
