Boxing Ontario is seeking Team Coaches to support athletes for the U17/U19/U23 2025 National Championships, May 29 – June 1, 2025 in Quebec. Three positions are available with 1 female coach minimum. Selected coaches will also be responsible for running training camp(s) for the Provincial Team leading up to Nationals.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: SUNDAY, APRIL 6 BY 12 PM
Eligibility
Coaches wishing to be considered by Boxing Ontario must be:
- Competition-development ‘in training’ NCCP; or a coach who has completed at least six (6) NCCP Competition Development multisport modules; or a coach who has completed at least four (4) NCCP Competition Development multisport modules and Boxing Canada’s Performance Analysis Workshop.
- A member in good standing with Boxing Ontario (PSO) and Boxing Canada;
- Available for the entire duration of the event (according to the dates above);
- Has completed the following modules:
- Safe Sport Training which can be found under the E-Learning tab on The Locker
- Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders can be completed HERE
- Making Head Way which can be found under the E-Learning tab on The Locker
- Coaches must sign a Code of Conduct and complete background checks as applicable.
Other factors taken into consideration for your application:
- Experience as a boxer
- Examples of success as a coach (ie. provincial and national champions)
- Examples of being a good leader and communicator
- Attendance at the next training camp on April 13, 2025 from 12pm – 4pm at Kingsway Boxing is highly recommended
Note: Coaches with Competition Introduction certification are also welcome to apply.
The Coaching/High Performance Committee will review all applications. The candidates will be selected based on Coaches Selection Policy, subject to Board approval. Boxing Ontario’s Coach Selection Policy is available here.
