Boxing Ontario sends 9 champion athletes to represent Ontario at the 2011 Canada Winter Games
Altogether 9 young men from Ontario’s various boxing clubs have earned themselves a spot to represent the province at the 2011 Canada Winter Games. These nine young men have shown great athleticisms and pride within the sport of boxing and that is why they were selected among the many candidates to represent Ontario at the Winter Games.
The nine man team will head to Halifax to compete in the 2011 Canada Winter Games which takes place from February 11 through February 27. Boxing at the winter games will take place during the second week at the Halifax Forum.
“Our athletes, coaches, mangers and Mission Staff have been working extremely hard to prepare for these Games” said Blair McIntosh, chef de mission, Team Ontario. In just under a month’s time, the eyes of the country will focus on Halifax as our brightest young competitors will represent Ontario with pride and respect.”
Team Ontario will be compromised of a total of 354 delegates, including 261 athletes competing in 21 sports and three talented artists participating in the National Artists Program, supported by 73 coaches, managers and 20 Mission Staff.
