Matthew Kennedy joins us as Boxing Ontario’s new Executive Director. He brings with him a wealth of experience from the Ontario sporting community. His last position as the Executive Director of the Ontario Blind Sports Association (OBSA) saw him directing the organization’s programs and operations in all areas. With OBSA he was required to direct a highly diverse, motivated and results-driven group, responsible for the management, development and promotion of seven sport programs in Ontario. He had great success in acquiring funding from partnership arrangements, grant allocations and secured cost reductions that added to bottom-line success.

In the past he has been the Manager of the Sport Tourism program for the Sport Alliance of Ontario and was responsible for the establishment of the successful provincial conferences and partnerships and also the development of the Ontario Sport Council network. Previous to this role, Matthew was the Information Officer for Distress Centres of Ontario and has been involved with various Youth Centre after school programs, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and the Ontario Wheelchair Sports Association.

Mr. Kennedy states “I am very excited to bring my past contributions to Boxing Ontario to fulfill the vision the board has laid out. It makes it even more exciting that boxing is a passion of mine and I’m looking for to being a part of an organisation that has such great history in Canadian sport!”

Matt Kennedy will begin with Boxing Ontario August 3. He can be reached at [email protected] or 416.426.7221.
