Boxing Ontario chronicles the adventures of Adam Trupish and his teammates as they prepare for Athens and fulfill a lifelong dream – to box in the Olympic Games.

Volume 5: Athens Bound (Written by Adam Trupish)

All packed, prepared, and ready for the games!  Coach Stewart and I embark on our journey today to join the remaining team members in Montreal.  We reach Athens August 10th, but remember Greece is seven hours ahead.  I’ve packed light considering I will be gone for five weeks, but we will be getting our gear and clothing apon arrival.  I think I’ll have to buy an extra bag for gifts before my return home.
Training camp has ended successfully!  I’m so pleased with all the help from others in order for me to perform my best.  I really feel great mentally and physically.  I’ve decided to get some quality reading in on the long flight over.  I’ll continue reading an interesting book called the the “48 Laws of Power”, by Robert Green. It’s a long one. Got some new boxing boots to fight in, so I’ve tried my best to wear them in.
Asked Charlie for Monday morning off from working out.  I’m going to hopefully sleep in some, and have one last breakfast with my wife, Autum. I’m sure gonna miss that girl of mine.  So I figure today will be a write-off as far as working out is concerned, but we’ll work Tuesday evening to get the jet lag off.
I’m eating well, yet I’m still 1 kg under weight.  Workouts have been so intense I’m probably burning off thousands upon thousands of calories.  I’ve heard great things about the Olympic cafeteria and its awesome array of foods to feed all the ethnicities of the globe. Last month I lost my boxing passport (thought only coaches did that) so I had to rush for a new one and a new medical from my doc, Dr.Fedoruk.
Well I’m going over my packing list and checking it twice.  Can’t afford to forget anything important.  Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] and I’ll keep in touch.

TALK TO YOU NEXT FROM ATHENS!!!
