Team Ontario Nets 11 GOLD Medals at Senior National Championships

The National Senior Championships took place this past weekend in St. Hyacinthe, QC. Athletes from all over Canada were vying for coveted spots on the Canadian National Team.

Team Ontario put forth amazing effort and hard work, which showed by weeks end. Team Ontario has returned home with a total of an astounding 11 Gold medals. This is in fact a tie with Quebec for most gold medals won. Ontario also won 9 Silver and 7 bronze medals.

To top it off Richard Reittie of Sully’s Boxing Club in Toronto, ON was voted the Best Male Boxer of the tournament. Isho Shiba of McGrory’s Boxing Club in Hamilton, ON was voted Boxing Canada 2006 Rookie of the Year and 2006 Best Male Boxer of the year.
