Ontario Police Memorial Boxing –  Cops and Kids Knock Out Cancer

Support Camp Oochigeas

Mississauga- All members of the media are invited to a special open training camp featuring police and peace officers from across the GTA who are training for the annual Police Memorial Boxing Event titled: “Ringside For Kids” in support of Camp Oochigeas, a cancer camp for kids.  The proceeds from this year’s event are being donated to “Camp Ooch” in the name of Sgt. Ryan Russell and all of the brave men and women who gave their lives in the protection and service of their community and country.

When:  Thursday April 21st, 2011 – 1 pm  

Where:  Kingsway Boxing Club – 22B Jutland Road Toronto (Kipling/Queensway area)

What:  Media Conference – Training Camp – Police and Peace Officers from across the GTA will be training to prepare for their annual show held in honour of fallen officers.

There will be open training including sparring, pad work, heavy-bag work and skipping with police and local 2012 Olympic boxing prospects. Cancer survivors and family of fallen officers will be share their stories to inspire the police boxers and raise awareness of Camp Ooch and the Ontario Police Memorial.

Who: Survivors who knocked out cancer with Camp Ooch, family members of fallen officers, Executive Director of Camp Ooch, www.campooch.org police boxers from Toronto, Peel, OPP and Ministry of Public Safety, local dignitaries, George Chuvalo and other celebrity guests along with representatives of Boxing Ontario.
