MEDIA ADVISORY

Four Ontario female amateur boxing athletes have traveled to Port of Spain, Trinidad to represent Canada at the Pan American Female Boxing Championships to be held from October 1-8. Competition will open October 3 at the Chaguaramas Convention Centre in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago and conclude with final round action on October 7.

Veteran National Team members Mary Spencer 66 kg (Windsor BC), Katie Dunn 63 kg (Windsor), Jennifer O’Connell 60 kg (Windsor BC) and Mandy Bujold 50 kg (Waterloo Regional) will start the competition on Friday. Coach Rick Cadilha (Waterloo Regional) has also accompanied the team.

Countries participating in this year’s event include Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Guyana, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, U.S.A and of course, Trinidad and Tobago.
