For Immediate Release:

MEDIA ADVISORY

Police and Peace Officers from the Canadian Emergency Services Boxing Association, known as CESBA  www.cesba.ca, stepped into the boxing ring at Canadian Forces Base Kandahar as a way to demonstrate their unwavering support for the men and women of the Canadian Forces.  The officers were part of the “Team Canada Tour” that attended the base, along with several high-profile dignataries, VIP’s and Canadian Sports and Music Icons (Bruce Cockburn, Finger 11, Guy Lafleur, and others), to hold a boxing show for the men and women deployed to Afghanistan.

The CESBA team consisted of police and peace officers from Halton, Peel, Toronto, Canadian National Police and a female Parole Officer from Brampton.  After the matches, the officers participated in a rare tour “outside the wire” where they visited several Canadian Forces “forward operating bases” know as FOB’s.

The boxing event and “Team Canada” Tour were a resounding success and well received by the men and women of the Canadian Forces.  The media is invited to meet with members of the CESBA Team, who are in transit from Afghanistan, to share information regarding this most unique event in support of the Canadian Forces.
