The National Senior Chamionships wrapped up this weekend in St. Catharines, ON with plenty of Ontario athletes bringing home medals and title honours.

Team Ontario Males brought the “Best Male Team” title home in which 5 out of 11 captured gold, including Adam Trupish of Windsor Amateur Boxing Club. Adam was also named “Best Male Boxer”. The “Best Female Boxer” title and a gold medal went to Jill Perry, from Ottawa Beaver Boxing Club.

Boxing Canada also handed out awards this weekend. Ontario came away with 4 honours. Specifically, Best Male Boxer – Adam Trupish (Windsor Amateur Boxing Club), Best Female Boxer – Mary Spencer (Windsor Amateur Boxing Club), Best Male Rookie – Ibrahim Kamal (Cabbagetown Boxing Club) and Best Female Rookie – Katie Dunn (Border City Boxing Club).

The Senior Male Team will box-off at the National Junior Chamiponships on January 26-29, 2006 in St. Hyacinthe, Que and then followed by the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia March 15-26, 2006.

The Senior Female Team will box-off at the National Cadet Championships on April 7-9, 2006 in Sarnia, ON.
