Community Coaching Grants

A young athlete’s involvement in any sport should be a positive and memorable experience. That’s why the Making Dreams Possible program is committed to developing coaching excellence at the grassroots level in communities across the country.

GM Dealers Contribute to the Dream

The Making Dreams Possible program offers Dealers and Retailers the opportunity to ensure that a club or coaching grant is awarded to a sport organization in their community. We appreciate the Dealerships that have contributed $1,000 towards a grant. GM will match their contribution, ensuring that a full $2,000 grant is awarded to a local applicant in their community.

These additional contributions made by local Dealers and Retailers, combined with GM’s ongoing commitment to help fund Canadian athletes, will enable over 100 grants to be delivered on an annual basis.

And it doesn’t stop there. GM has made a promise that grants will be awarded in each city across Canada in which there is a GM plant location.

Each Trip To The Podium Starts In A Community Like Yours

In an effort to continually enhance Canada’s community sport programs through coach training and developmental activities, 100 grants of $2,000 each will be awarded to local sport organizations for youth aged 5 to 18.

Not-for-profit community sport clubs, associations and/or leagues for youth participating in Olympic or Paralympic sports are eligible to apply for a community-coaching grant. The organizations must also be affiliated with their respective provincial or territorial sport organization or national sport organization. Complete eligibility information is available at www.coach.ca .

The community coaching grants will be awarded twice annually. The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is responsible for the administration of Making Dreams Possible. If your local sport organization would benefit from this program, visit the CAC Web site at www.coach.ca and download an application form today.
