Boxing Ontario would like to congratulate the Canadian Boxing Team an on excellent performance at the Olympic Games.  The sacrifices that our athletes, coaches, and support staff have made are extremely commendable and throughout the Olympics our boxers provided us with gritty and entertaining bouts.

To be an Olympic Boxer is to be one of the BEST boxers in the world, a level that very few athletes attain.  The mental and physical skills, hard work and dedication, and commitment that our athletes have displayed are nothing short of heroic.  Congratulations gentlemen!

Benoit Gaudet 57kg – 1st Rd defeated Kamsing Somluck (Thailand) 32-17, 2nd Rd loss to Jo Seok Kwan (Korea) 16-28.

Adam Trupish 69kg – 1st Rd loss to Ruslan Khairov (AZB) by RSCI.

Jean Pascal 75kg – 1st Rd loss to Despaigne Herrera (Cuba) 24 – 36.

Trevor Stewardson 81kg 1st rd defeated Kurtado Flavio (Cap-Vert) 36 – 20, 2nd Rd loss to Ahmedismail El-Shamy (Egypt).
