Manager of Technical Programs – Maternity Leave
Position Overview – Part Time
Under the direction of the Executive Director (ED), coordinate all components of Boxing Ontario Technical Program including – Tournaments, Club Shows, Coaches, Officials and all other Programs such as BOX ON!
Responsibilities: – Tournaments
Ensure that all tournaments are properly sanctioned and posted on the Boxing Ontario web site.
Coordinate the organization of the provincial championships, including working with the host, supervising registration, assisting with the draw, managing the tournament and providing assistance to all volunteers
Coordinate the organization of at least four Developmental Tournaments including the Provincials. This will include working with the host, supervising registration, assisting with the draw, attending the tournament and providing assistance to all volunteers
Post the results of all Tournaments on the Web site.
Club Shows
Process all Club Show requests this includes – contacting the Regional Official to confirm he or she accepts the show, post the show on the web site and send a copy of the request to the Regional Official and club
Attend all Club Shows as necessary
Post the results of all Club Shows on the Web site
Awards
Working with the selection committee; coordinate the annual awards for Boxing Ontario which includes – organizing committee meetings, notifying the recipients and coordinating the awards ceremony
Technical Committee
Liaise with the Chair of the Technical Committee on a regular basis
Assist in the process of Upgrading athletes which includes – the processing of documents and the organization of Committee conference calls
Coaching
Liaise with the Director of Coaching on a regular basis
Coordinate the delivery of all Technical Coaching Courses including the securing of venues and instructors and sending out the information to the clubs as well as posting it on the web
Provide any relevant coaching information to all coaches
Liaise with the Coaching Association of Ontario and Canada
Officials
Liaise with the Director of Officiating on a regular basis
Coordinate the delivery of all Technical Officials courses including the securing of venues and instructors and sending out the information to the clubs as well as posting it on the web
BOX-ON!
Coordinate the delivery of programs across the province
Recruit new Instructors and Instructors trainers and coordinate the delivery of training for these groups
Solicit new BOX-ON sessions by promotion of program on web site and through personal contact with sponsors and other stakeholders
Increase the delivery of programs each year a determine new methods of program delivery
Phone calls – answer all general phone calls regarding Boxing Ontario where appropriate
General
Assist ED with ongoing promotion of Boxing Ontario
Assist ED with marketing and sponsorship as required
Assist ED with sponsor relations
Attend special events as necessary – includes the AGM
Perform other duties as required
Reporting
Reports directly to the Executive Director of Boxing Ontario
Candidate Qualifications and Professional Attributes
Knowledge and background of Sport and environment desired
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Hands-on individual capable of planning, executing and completing deliverables on-time and within budget
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Highly skilled with all Microsoft software applications including Microsoft Office and Adobe
Previous experience with volunteer boards and committees is considered an asset
Education and Experience
University or college graduate in a relevant field;
3-5 years of experience in a similar role; and Entrepreneurial skills and Non-profit experience an asset.

Position Description
Membership and Administrative Coordinator – Maternity Leave
Responsibilities:
Membership:
Coordinate all components of Boxing Ontario Membership including – Clubs, Athletes, Coaches and Officials
Act as primary contact with the Canadian Amateur Boxing Association (CABA) with regard to follow-up on registration and books
Provide Executive Director (ED) with monthly membership statistical updates from September to April and bi-monthly for the rest of the year
Coordinate entry of statistics for the Ministry of Health, Ontario Trillium Foundation and other grants as required
Assist in the promotion and recruitment of new Clubs, Athletes, Coaches and Officials
Send out all necessary information (new club package) to new clubs and to those individuals interested in starting a new club
Maintain the directory of clubs on the Boxing Ontario web site
Programs
Coaching – coordinate the delivery of coaching courses across the province, including selection of hosts, selection of instructors and communication with all groups. Liaise with the Director Technical and Programs on all coaching related activities
Officiating – coordinate the delivery of officiating courses across the province, including selection of hosts, selection of instructors and communication with all groups. Liaise with the Director Technical and Programs on all officiating activities
Clubs – provide assistance with any requests that come from clubs
Sanctions – Coordinate all club sanctions including, processing of sanction requests, contacting the head official in the area, sending out confirmations to clubs and posting sanctions on web site.
Athletes – Be the central point of contact for all athletes regarding registration and other inquiries
Police Record Checks – Organize and maintain police record checks. Send request forms out to participants
Administration
Payment – process cheques, cash, and debit and credit card transactions and provide summary to ED at the end of each week
Phone calls – answer all general phone calls regarding Boxing Ontario where appropriate
Office supplies – order supplies for office as necessary
Equipment – coordinate repair and maintenance of office equipment including fax and computers
Provide administrative support to the Executive Director which may include booking appointments and travel arrangements
Web Site
Maintenance – be responsible for the updating of the following areas:
Events – club shows – listings and results – Volunteer section – create information to be posted on how to become a volunteer – eventual location for volunteer job postings
Coaching and Officiating Clinics
General
