Elite Nationals Team…. 3 positions:

Head Coach – Assistant Coach – Team Manager

Reporting to the Boxing Ontario Technical Committee, the Team Coaches and Team Manager are responsible for ensuring the success of the Provincial team at the Nationals in Quebec City, QC, on December 7-11th.

 

Junior C / Youth Nationals Team (the ones not going to the CWG)…..3 positions:

Head Coach – Assistant Coach – Team Manager

Reporting to the Boxing Ontario Technical Committee, the Team Coaches and Team Manager are responsible for ensuring the success of the Provincial team at the Nationals in St. Hyacinthe, QC, on January 18-22nd.

Qualifications

Team Coaches….Ideal candidate will have at least Level 2 Full Certification, be a registered member of Boxing Ontario in good standing, demonstrated superior managerial and leadership abilities. He or she must understand boxing rules and be willing to travel in Canada. The individual must possess a strong track record as a team builder and must also possess superior communications skills.

Previous Team Ontario Coach experience an asset but not mandatory.

Level III Certification or higher is an asset but not mandatory.

Team Managers…Ideal candidate will have demonstrated superior managerial and leadership abilities. He or she must understand boxing rules and be willing to travel in Canada. The individual must possess a strong track record as a team builder and must also possess superior communications skills.

Preference will be given to individuals without an athlete on the Team.

Boxing Ontario is seeking a Team Manager for its Canada Winter Games (CWG) team.

The Team Manager is responsible for the day to day managerial duties to ensure the success of the team at the CWG in Halifax, NS. in February.  He/she will provide support to individual coaches and athletes and act as a liaison between the CWG Manager and Team Ontario.

Duties & Responsibilities

– Travel with the team to and from the competition, if possible

– Attend Manager’s meetings, training camps and the Draw

– Ensure athletes show up on time and travel as a group to the venue (if possible)

– Evaluate training facilities at venue

– Plans and organizes team meetings and team training

– Support coaches in ensuring athletes eat, train, warm up and rest properly

– Evaluates training facilities

– Win or lose provide support and encouragement to athletes

– Communicate competition details to the team and Boxing Ontario

– Note results of competition (medals won etc) and communicate this to Boxing Ontario

on a daily basis, if possible

– Ensure sportsmanship like behavior of Team Ontario (shake hands, cheer)

– Ensure Team members, including coaches conduct themselves in a respectful manner at

all times

– File protest with Chief Official if appropriate

– Take charge of any discipline issues –provide the Director of Discipline and Boxing

Ontario with a report on any incidences

– Conduct team meetings as prior to, after competition and in between as necessary

– Ensure members of the team (coaches and athletes) are abiding by the Code of Conduct

– Develop team work, team spirit, morale, good sportsmanship, courtesy, fairplay and

strict adherence to the rules and regulations that govern amateur Boxing

– Provide a manager’s report to Boxing Ontario (Form provided) after the event

– Assist athlete with any medical care needed

– Safeguard all personal information regarding athletes and coaches.

– Plus any other duties as assigned by Boxing Ontario
