The Executive Committee of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) proudly confirmed the host cities for three AIBA tournaments – the 2010 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships, the 2010 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and 2011 AIBA World Boxing Championships – at its 2009 meeting being held in Milan, Italy on Monday.

The port city of Busan, Korea will host the 2011 AIBA World Boxing Championships after the AIBA Executive Committee selected it ahead of Dublin, Ireland while Barbados was selected as the host of the 2011 Women’s World Boxing Championships and France* as the host of the 2010 AIBA Youth World Championships.

“It is with great pleasure and excitement that we are able to confirm these three host cities,” AIBA President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu said. “All three bids have illustrated the type of professionalism and direction AIBA is seeking in its aim to give international boxing an excellent platform to grow and prosper.”

Further details for each tournament will be announced as they are confirmed.

*The French Boxing Federation will make a selection from two possible host cities – Nice and Grenoble.
